A Quick Visit to Elk Island – continued

As my lovely wife mentioned in yesterday’s post, we took a quick trip to the Elk Island National park.  Yes it was completely empty.  Only evidence of living things in the park was their tracks left in the white blanket of snow.  We did spot a lonely bison, and three elks crossing a frozen pond, but because the setting sun hid behind clouds the world became dark really quickly.  I decided that my fish eye needed a bit of an exercise, so I took it with me.  Since there was not much of a sunset I trained it on my family.  I have to remember to take it with me more often.  Enjoy!

I was there snowshoeing yesterday as well. We tracked buffalo scat and stumbled upon a herd of about 30. Great day. Then when we left there was a huge accident.

I wonder if those snowshoe tracks at Astotin were left by you :) The world is a small place :) I heard about the accident, sad that two people lost their lives in it.
